DLS Week 3 Exercises : Sensitivity (ISO)

This exercise helps to understand the "S" from the FAST formula. In the first shot, I set the Aperture to 4.0 and adjusted the shutter speet to a level I liked. I then shot with a decreasing ISO....A HA!!! I get it!!! The shot darkens!!! If I would want to "correct" it, I'd have to change my shutter speed. I also used the 10 second timer (my camera does not have a 2 second one) to adjust for shake of camera with shutter button depression.

Manual Mode - Aperture 4.0, Shutter Speed 1/500s, ISO 1600
Manual Mode - Aperture 4.0, Shutter Speed 1/500s, ISO 800
Manual Mode - Aperture 4.0, Shutter Speed 1/500s, ISO 400

Manual Mode - Aperture 4.0, Shutter Speed 1/500s, ISO 200

Manual Mode - Aperture 4.0, Shutter Speed 1/500s, ISO 100

  1. Hi Dallas, interesting pics! I like your comments also. I wondered if you would tell me how you got the technical information for each picture to appear above the picture. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. I can be reached at dsfive@xplornet.com or on my blog westofthe5th.blogspot.com(although, as you can see, I haven't figured out how to communicate unless it's by adding a comment. Sorry. I guess if you have insight on that also, I'd love to hear!
